$60-$150/hr treasury and cash management work, on your schedule

Review AI-generated liquidity forecasts, hedging strategies, and cash positioning the way you'd review them before a funding decision. Flag the covenant risk, the hedge that doesn't offset, the forecast that strands cash. Knowing how money actually moves through a company under pressure is what AI labs need.

Hi, we're Zac and Jack, the founders of Terac. We want to talk to you directly, because you are the most important part of what we're building.

Terac is a community of experts. People who have spent years getting good at something specific and hard. The world is about to need more of you, not less. As AI takes on more of the world's work, the bottleneck shifts to the people who actually know what they're talking about.

Expert labor is the rarest resource in the world right now, and it is shockingly hard to find. The companies that need a treasury analyst's eye on a liquidity forecast spend weeks chasing people, paying placement fees, and settling for whoever is available. Meanwhile thousands of qualified people are sitting with knowledge that no one ever asks for.

That gap is what we're here to close. Every project that lands on Terac is routed to the people who actually know the answer, on their schedule, paid fairly, and only when the work is verified. No middleman taking a cut of your time. No vague gigs. No chasing checks.

We care about every single person in this community. If you join Terac, you're not a row in a database to us. We read the feedback. We answer the emails. We will fight for you when a customer is being unreasonable, and we will be honest with you when something on our side is broken. The quality of this panel is our entire company, and we owe you a serious bar.

If you've made it this far, here is what we're asking: claim your profile. Put your expertise on the record. Let the world's most ambitious teams come find you for the work only you can do.

Specialists in FX risk management and derivatives are actively useful because frontier models struggle most with the nuanced judgment calls in that domain: hedge designation under ASC 815, choosing between forwards versus options for a given exposure profile, and interpreting Bloomberg FXGO outputs in context. Your CTP plus hands-on derivatives experience is a stronger signal than a generalist background. You do not need to work across every treasury function to contribute meaningfully.

The work involves evaluating hypothetical scenarios, anonymized case studies, and AI-generated reasoning, not real transactions, live counterparties, or proprietary deal data from your employer. You are never asked to input or validate information tied to your firm's actual banking relationships, credit facilities, or investment positions. If a task ever prompts you to use non-public institutional data, you should decline that specific task, and Terac's task design is structured to avoid that situation.

Tasks vary but typically include AI-drafted liquidity forecasting narratives, working capital analyses, bank account structure recommendations, short-term investment policy sections, and intercompany netting or cash pooling proposals. You may also evaluate AI reasoning on topics like TMS (treasury management system) configuration trade-offs between Kyriba, GTreasury, or similar platforms, or the application of SWIFT gpi and ISO 20022 messaging standards. The review asks you to flag errors in logic, missed constraints, or advice that would be inappropriate for a given company size or risk profile.

An active CTP is not required. Terac qualifies you based on your demonstrated expertise and current work, not credential maintenance status. A lapsed CTP combined with a senior finance role with direct treasury oversight, such as managing bank relationships, cash positioning, or debt covenant compliance, is sufficient. If you also hold a CCM (Certified Cash Manager) or an FP&A-adjacent credential like the FPAC and apply it to treasury functions, those count toward your profile as well.

The majority of current tasks are written from a corporate treasury perspective: cash concentration, payment factory design, revolving credit facility management, investment policy compliance, and forecasting variance analysis. Sell-side and asset management scenarios do appear but are a smaller share. If you have experience with a specific treasury context such as a multinational with notional pooling, a PE-backed company managing covenant headroom, or a high-growth SaaS company building its first formal treasury function, that context makes your evaluations more precise and more valuable.

Why your expertise matters

Treasury and cash management decisions involve multi-variable judgment calls that sit at the intersection of liquidity risk, counterparty exposure, and regulatory constraint - exactly the kind of reasoning that AI models struggle to replicate without expert correction. When an AI generates a cash flow forecast, an FX hedging recommendation, or an analysis of a bank counterparty's credit quality, only a practitioner who has actually worked through a liquidity crunch or managed a revolving credit facility can identify where the model's reasoning is plausible-sounding but structurally wrong. Your experience with instruments like commercial paper, repo agreements, and interest rate swaps gives you the reference frame to catch errors that would never appear in a textbook but happen constantly in real treasury operations.

How pay works

Rates toward the top of the $60-$150/hr range go to practitioners with hands-on experience in areas that are both technically narrow and high-stakes: FX derivatives structuring, ISDA negotiation, in-house banking, or cash concentration across multi-entity global structures. All work is fully remote and you invoice only for tasks you complete and submit - there are no scheduled shifts, and payment is released after your output is verified against quality criteria, not just submitted.

What the work looks like

A sample of the treasury and cash management work you would pick up. Every project is scoped, remote, and paid on verified completion.

  • Review an AI-generated 13-week cash flow forecast for a mid-market manufacturing company and flag methodological errors in how seasonal receivables and revolver draws are modeled.
  • Evaluate a model-written ISDA Master Agreement summary for accuracy, identifying where the AI has mischaracterized close-out netting provisions or collateral thresholds.
  • Assess an AI recommendation on whether a corporate should execute a USD/EUR cross-currency swap or use natural hedging, and correct any errors in how basis risk or hedge accounting eligibility under ASC 815 is treated.
  • Write a worked example showing step-by-step how you would evaluate a new bank counterparty for short-term investment eligibility, including the credit metrics and covenant triggers you actually check.
  • Score a set of AI-generated responses to a question about optimizing yield on an overnight investment portfolio, rating each on technical accuracy and practical feasibility given typical bank credit policy constraints.
  • Identify the failure modes in an AI explanation of notional pooling versus zero-balance account structures, noting where the model conflates tax treatment, currency limitations, or bank participation requirements.
