What We're Researching

We are running a paid study on visual curation and moodboard creation. Our goal is to understand the subtle differences between artificial intelligence and human curation in design workflows. Your feedback helps us evaluate whether AI tools can accurately replicate the nuance of professional design boards.

How It Works

You will join a remote session to review a series of moodboards side by side. We will ask you to closely examine the layout, color choices, and thematic consistency of each board. After reviewing the options, you will guess which moodboards were created by real people and explain your reasoning. Finally, you will provide feedback on what visual cues gave away the origin of each board.

Who This Is For

We are looking for creative professionals with an eye for visual design. We welcome graphic designers, art directors, brand strategists, and visual artists. Candidates should have experience either creating moodboards or using them to guide project aesthetics.

What You'll Do
  • Review a series of moodboards presented on your screen.
  • Identify which boards appear to be created by human designers.
  • Explain the specific visual cues that influenced your choices.
  • Discuss your typical process for creating or evaluating aesthetic directions.
Who Should Apply
  • Professional experience in visual design or creative direction.
  • Familiarity with creating or utilizing moodboards for projects.
  • Comfortable articulating visual concepts and aesthetic choices.
  • Strong attention to detail regarding layout and thematic consistency.
Contract & Payment Terms
  • You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
  • This is a fully remote opportunity that can be completed on your own schedule.
  • Opportunities can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
  • Your participation will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
  • Payment is issued as soon as your work is approved.
  • We are unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time.
