Independent Merchants: Interview on POS and Payment Terminals

We're running a paid study on the technology stack that powers independent retail and service businesses. Help us evaluate how merchants navigate the crowded market of point-of-sale systems, payment terminals, and local advertising options. Your operational insights will directly inform the next generation of merchant tools.

You will participate in a 20-minute remote interview led by an AI moderator. During the session, you will answer questions about your current POS setup, how you process payments, and what drives your hardware upgrade decisions. The AI will adapt its follow-up questions based on your specific business environment and daily challenges. You will speak freely about what works and what frustrates you in your current technology stack.

We are looking for independent merchant owners, general managers, and operational leaders who make technology purchasing decisions. We welcome retail owners, restaurant operators, and local service providers who actively manage payment terminals. You should be familiar with the day-to-day challenges of processing transactions and running local advertising campaigns.

• Complete a 20-minute AI-moderated remote interview

• Walk us through how you make purchasing decisions for new hardware or software
• Share your perspective on local advertising and customer acquisition tools

• Current owner or general manager of an independent merchant business
• Direct involvement in choosing or managing point-of-sale systems
• Familiarity with processing customer payments and managing business operations
• Comfortable speaking with an AI moderator in a remote interview setting

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote opportunity that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Opportunities can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your participation will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payment is issued as soon as your work is approved.
