What We're Researching

We are running a paid study on early childhood reading materials and visual preferences. The goal is to identify which illustration styles and narrative openings resonate most strongly with audiences. This feedback directly informs the creative direction of an upcoming children's storybook.

How It Works

You will participate in a short, asynchronous survey that takes under 3 minutes to complete. During the task, you will review an illustration pair and an opening-line pair from a drafted storybook. You will then select the version you would rather read to a child. Finally, you will submit your choices to help finalize the book's design.

Who This Is For

We welcome parents, caregivers, and anyone who frequently reads storybooks to young children. You should have a good eye for what captures a child's attention and keeps them engaged. Early childhood educators, nannies, and pediatric professionals are also encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do
  • Review two distinct illustration styles for a children's storybook
  • Read two different opening lines and evaluate their appeal
  • Select the version you would prefer to read aloud to a child
  • Complete a brief asynchronous task in under 3 minutes
Who Should Apply
  • Adult who regularly reads books to children
  • Comfortable evaluating visual art styles and short text snippets
  • Able to provide quick, honest preferences on creative materials
