You'll start with a short screening interview

What We're Researching

We're studying how ambulatory and small clinic teams handle referral coordination end to end. This includes how staff pull referral details from clinical notes, how prior authorizations get initiated and tracked, and how scheduling gets coordinated with outside specialists. The goal is to capture real-world workflow knowledge that can be used to train an AI model on healthcare admin tasks. Inpatient workflows, bed management, and revenue cycle management are out of scope for this round.

How It Works

This is part of an AI training project. You'll walk through your clinic's referral process from start to finish, describing how you identify and extract referral information from notes, how you manage prior authorization steps, and what challenges come up when scheduling with specialists outside your practice. Your input helps train the model on realistic outpatient referral workflows.

Who This Is For

This is for healthcare admin professionals with hands-on experience in ambulatory or small clinic settings, particularly those who handle referral coordination, prior authorization, or specialist scheduling as part of their day-to-day work. No inpatient, bed management, or RCM experience is needed for this project.

What You'll Do
  • Map out your daily referral coordination workflow in an ambulatory setting
  • Detail the steps you take for securing prior authorizations
  • Explain how you extract referral information from clinical notes
  • Discuss your process for coordinating specialist scheduling
