Independent Tax Preparers: Interview on Preparation Workflows

We're running a paid study on the specific workflows used by independent and solo tax preparers. The goal is to evaluate the tools and processes professionals use to handle client returns efficiently. Your feedback helps us understand the unique challenges faced outside of large accounting firms.

You will join a 20 to 30-minute remote video session from your desktop computer. During the call, you will be asked to share your screen and discuss your typical tax preparation routine. We will guide you through questions about how you manage client data and finalize returns. You will also provide feedback on potential workflow improvements.

This study is for independent tax professionals and solo practitioners who actively prepare returns for clients. We welcome enrolled agents, CPAs, and specialized independent preparers who manage their own client base. You must have recent experience handling end-to-end tax preparation independently.

• Currently managing and filing tax returns for clients
• Comfortable joining a video call and sharing your screen
• Access to a desktop computer with a working camera

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote opportunity that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Opportunities can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your participation will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Payments are processed weekly based on services rendered.
