QA Engineers and Web Testers: Automated Test Failure Review
You'll start with a short screening interview
We are running a paid study on the accuracy of automated web testing tools. Our goal is to understand how well these tests capture genuine site breakages versus benign false positives. Your feedback directly helps us calibrate our testing infrastructure to be more reliable for developers.
You will review evidence from an automated test run on a public website. We will show you what the test expected to happen, what actually occurred, and two screenshots of the process. For three distinct cases, you will determine whether the issue is a real failure and rank how serious it would be for users. You do not need to create an account, download any software, or visit the live site yourself.
We are looking for Quality Assurance professionals, web testers, and software engineers familiar with automated UI testing. You should be comfortable reading test outputs and diagnosing potential web failures from screenshots alone. We welcome manual QA testers, automation engineers, frontend developers, and general software quality analysts.
- Review automated test evidence for three separate web failure cases.
- Compare expected test outcomes against the observed behavior and provided screenshots.
- Assess whether each flagged issue represents a genuine website failure.
- Determine and explain the severity of each confirmed defect.
- Professional experience in software QA, web testing, or frontend development.
- Familiarity with interpreting automated UI or end-to-end test results.
- Comfortable diagnosing web issues from static screenshots and expected behaviors.
- You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
- This is a fully remote opportunity that can be completed on your own schedule.
