What We're Researching

We are running a paid study on the accuracy and utility of AI-generated manuscript analysis tools. We want to understand how well these tools can pinpoint the correct genre, identify target readers, and pull relevant comparative titles for literary works. Your expertise will help us evaluate the quality of this automated analysis against professional publishing standards.

How It Works

You will complete an asynchronous review task centered on an AI-generated genre and audience analysis for a manuscript titled 'The Salt Road'. We will ask you to confirm the stated genre, refine the demographic and psychographic profile of the target audience, and suggest three to five current comparable titles with a brief rationale. You will also have access to a link to the manuscript itself to verify the automated claims if needed. Finally, you will compile these insights into a brief, one-page written report.

Who This Is For

We welcome literary editors, acquisition professionals, and literary agents with deep experience in the publishing industry. You must have a strong background working specifically with literary fiction or narrative non-fiction. A keen eye for market positioning and audience overlap is required to successfully evaluate the analysis.

What You'll Do
  • Review an AI-generated genre and audience analysis draft for a specific manuscript.
  • Confirm the genre statement and justify your professional assessment.
  • Refine the target audience description with specific demographic and psychographic details.
  • Suggest three to five current, comparable titles with a brief rationale for each.
  • Submit your final recommendations as a concise, one-page written report.
