What We're Researching

We're running a paid study on how different organizations evaluate, select, and purchase software tools. Our goal is to understand the friction points teams encounter when adopting new technology stacks. The insights will help map the typical buying journey across various company stages.

How It Works

During this remote interview, you will walk us through a recent software purchase your team made. We will ask you to detail the decision-making process, including who was involved and how budget was secured. You will also review a few common purchasing scenarios and share how your organization would handle them. The session relies on screen-sharing and audio discussion to map out your workflow.

Who This Is For

We are looking for professionals who have a direct say in their team's software tools or infrastructure. We welcome engineering managers, IT directors, operations leaders, and product managers. Candidates should have recent experience navigating a vendor evaluation or procurement process.

What You'll Do
  • Detail a recent software tool purchase your team completed.
  • Map out the stakeholders involved in your organization's buying process.
  • Discuss the friction points or bottlenecks in securing budget.
  • Evaluate common procurement scenarios and explain your approach.
Who Should Apply
  • Professional involved in team software or tooling decisions.
  • Recent experience evaluating or purchasing a new platform.
  • Familiar with your company's budget and procurement workflows.
  • Comfortable discussing organizational buying habits.
Contract & Payment Terms
  • You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
  • This is a fully remote opportunity that can be completed on your own schedule.
  • Opportunities can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
  • Your participation will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
  • Payment is issued as soon as your work is approved.
  • We are unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time.
