Software Engineers: Feedback on Code Quality Tools

We're running a paid study on emerging code quality and review tools. Our goal is to understand how automated evaluation systems fit into daily developer workflows. We want to see where current solutions fall short and how a new interface might improve the review process.

You will participate in a remote video call to walk through your current code review process. We will show you two early designs for an automated code evaluation tool. You will interact with the interface, share your screen, and narrate your thoughts as you complete a mock review task. Finally, we will ask for your candid feedback on the usability and relevance of the designs.

We are looking for active software engineers who regularly participate in peer code reviews. We welcome frontend developers, backend engineers, full-stack developers, and technical leads. Candidates should have experience evaluating code quality and mentoring junior team members.

• Walk us through your typical code review workflow.
• React to two early designs of a code evaluation feature.
• Complete a mock code review task while sharing your screen.

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote opportunity that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Opportunities can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
