Tech Support Specialists: Guide on Consumer PC Recommendations

We're running a paid study on the evaluation processes used to recommend consumer computers. Understanding how experts weigh specifications against user needs helps us map hardware buying decisions and consumer advice workflows. Your methodology will serve as a foundational document for understanding personal tech selection.

You will first produce a comprehensive written guide of approximately 4,000 words detailing your approach to evaluating replacement computers. Following the written portion, you will record a 30 to 45-minute narrated screen capture of your live selection workflow. During this recording, you will demonstrate how you choose a laptop for a specific real-world scenario, such as finding a device for an older parent. You will submit both the written document and the video file for our review.

The ideal candidate has significant experience fielding requests from clients or family members who need help buying a new computer. You should be comfortable writing long-form documentation and clearly narrating your thought process on video.
