NYC Talent Buyers: Evaluate Emerging Musician Profiles

We are running a paid study on how talent buyers evaluate emerging New York City musicians. Your feedback will help refine the artist discovery process for a live-music booking platform. We want to understand what information drives booking decisions and how quickly those decisions are made.

You will review short profiles of emerging musicians on your own schedule. For each artist, you will examine their bio, genres, rate, availability, and performance clips. You will then answer a few quick questions on the page, including whether you would book them, which types of rooms fit their style, and a brief one-line note. The process takes about two minutes per artist profile.

We welcome talent buyers, venue managers, and event planners who book live music. Ideal candidates have experience matching artists to specific rooms and audiences in the New York City market. We also welcome booking agents and promoters who understand the local music scene.

• Recommend specific types of rooms or venues for each artist.
• Provide a one-line note summarizing your booking decision.

• Experience booking live music or managing venue talent.
• Familiarity with assessing musician promotional materials and performance clips.
• Understanding of different venue types and room capacities.

• You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
• This is a fully remote opportunity that can be completed on your own schedule.
• Opportunities can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Your participation will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
