Everyday Smartphone Users: First-Person Video Collection Study
You'll start with a short screening interview
We're running a paid study on everyday human activities and how they are captured from a first-person perspective. The footage you provide helps train computer vision systems to better understand normal, day-to-day environments. This project relies entirely on authentic, unscripted video of routine tasks and surroundings.
You will record first-person video using your own smartphone attached to a simple head-mount. Participants simply wear the mount and go about their normal daily routines, capturing everything from household chores to a walk around the neighborhood. You will submit the recorded files for review and approval through our platform. No specialized equipment like a GoPro is required, just your phone and the mount.
We are looking for everyday smartphone users who are comfortable recording their routine activities from a first-person view. You must have access to a reliable smartphone and a compatible head-mount to participate. We welcome students, remote workers, stay-at-home parents, and anyone willing to capture their daily life on camera.
- Attach your smartphone to a head-mount for hands-free recording.
- Record continuous first-person video of your everyday routine and activities.
- Upload and submit the raw video files for quality review.
- Ensure the footage is well-lit and clearly captures your perspective.
- Own a functioning smartphone with a high-quality video camera.
- Possess or be able to obtain a simple head-mount for your phone.
- Comfortable recording and sharing unscripted, daily activities.
- Able to transfer and upload large video files from your device.
- You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
- This is a fully remote opportunity that can be completed on your own schedule.
- Opportunities can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
- Your participation will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
- Payments are processed weekly based on services rendered.
- We are unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time.
