What We're Researching

We're running a paid study on how viewers process visual information during live sports events. The goal is to understand where attention naturally falls on the screen during fast-paced action. This research helps evaluate broadcast graphics and on-screen layouts.

How It Works

You will complete a short, remote task from your personal computer. After calibrating your webcam, you will watch five brief clips of soccer matches. The software will track your eye movements in the background while you focus on the gameplay. Finally, you will answer a few quick questions about what you saw.

Who This Is For

We welcome general sports viewers, dedicated soccer fans, and anyone comfortable using a webcam for remote research. You must have access to a desktop or laptop computer with a functioning webcam and a stable internet connection. Participants should be willing to follow simple on-screen instructions for eye-tracking calibration.

  • Calibrate your webcam for basic eye-tracking software
  • Watch five short soccer broadcast clips on your computer screen
  • Maintain focus on the screen while the footage plays
  • Answer brief follow-up questions about the clips you viewed
