A bit more financial freedom

"I think the biggest result for me with Terac was just a little bit more financial freedom," Rachel says. She is saving for a house and getting married next year, and the work has gone straight at both.

The money is the visible half. The other half is quieter: it let her work on skills she does not get to use in her day job.

Still couponing, just with a lot more money

Rachel lives in Phoenix, Arizona, and works as a procurement financial analyst.

She has always loved numbers. As a kid she was seriously into couponing; today she negotiates multi-million dollar deals. "So I like to say I'm still couponing, just with a lot more money."

Away from work she takes her mini goldendoodle, Ellie, to the park, and reads to decompress at the end of a long day.

Finding Terac

She found Terac while looking for something to do on the side, and it happened to line up exactly with her financial background. The team brought her into the expert community and made it straightforward to get going.

It moved faster than she expected, the financial interview included. "I took the interview, it was probably about five minutes, and then from there there was a lot of different opportunities for me to look through."

The work, and the flexibility

The work itself was reviewing SQL data and AI outputs: the kind of judgment that needs someone who reads financial data for a living.

What she values most is that there is no schedule. "Whenever I wanted to knock out a task, I'd grab my laptop, grab a coffee, and get going." Some weeks she puts in more hours, some weeks fewer.

"It fits around my lifestyle, and not the other way around."

Straight into the house fund

Within her first month and a half on Terac, Rachel made about $15,000. With a wedding next year and a house to buy, every bit of it went into the house fund.

Beyond the money, she says, it is satisfying to keep learning and to get better at something outside her regular work.

Her advice for experts thinking about joining: "I would absolutely recommend it. You get to use your skills for the better, and it's a lot of fun to do."
