Creating an Opportunity
Step-by-step guide to creating and configuring a new opportunity on Terac.
This guide walks through every step of creating an opportunity, from initial setup to launch.
Quick Create
The fastest way to start is the quick-create flow:
Navigate to your project
Go to the project where you want the opportunity to live and click New Opportunity.
Enter basic details
Provide a title, description, and select the opportunity type (one-time or project-based).
- Title - what participants see when browsing opportunities
- Description - explain what the opportunity involves and who should apply
- Who should apply - describe the ideal participant profile
- What you'll be doing - outline the tasks participants will complete
Set compensation
Define how much participants earn for completing the opportunity. This is the per-participant payout amount.
Configure screening
Add screening questions to qualify participants. See Screening for details on question types and grading.
Set filters
Define demographic, geographic, and professional filters to target the right audience. See Filters for the full catalog.
Review and launch
Review your opportunity configuration, then click Launch to start recruitment.

Pricing

Screening
You can add multiple screening questions with different evaluation methods:
- Auto-graded - answers are evaluated automatically based on rules you define
- Manual review - you review each response and approve or reject
- AI screening interview - the AI moderator conducts a voice interview using your research guide
Tasks
Configure what participants need to complete after passing screening:
- Survey - a set of questions answered in-app
- File upload - participants submit files (documents, screenshots, etc.)
- Interview - an AI-moderated voice conversation
- Multi-part - a combination of the above
Duplicating an Opportunity
If you want to run a similar opportunity with different parameters, use the Duplicate action from any existing opportunity. This copies all configuration including screening questions, filters, and task setup, letting you adjust only what's different.
Budget
Before launching, Terac shows you an estimated budget based on your per-participant payout and participant cap. Make sure your organization has enough credits to cover the opportunity.
You can adjust the participant cap and deadline after launch without stopping the opportunity.
