Profile Information

When you create an account and complete onboarding, we collect:

  • Professional background: Work experience, education, skills
  • Resume: If you choose to upload one
  • Social profiles: LinkedIn, Facebook, or other connected accounts
  • Availability: Your weekly schedule
  • Verification data: Government ID (processed by Stripe Identity)

Participation Data

When you participate in studies, we collect:

  • Screening responses: Answers to qualification questions
  • Task submissions: Survey responses, uploaded files
  • Interview recordings: Audio and transcripts from AI-moderated interviews
  • Behavioral data: How you interact with tasks (timing, completion patterns)

Technical Data

We automatically collect:

  • Device information: Browser type, operating system
  • Connection data: IP address, location (country/region)
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used

Payment Data

For payouts, we collect:

  • Email address: For Virtual Incentives redemption
  • Tax information: If required for tax reporting

How We Use Your Data

Matching and Opportunities

We use your data to:

  • Match you with relevant research opportunities
  • Verify you meet study requirements
  • Display your profile to researchers (when you apply)

AI Processing

We use AI to:

  • Extract information from your resume
  • Enrich your profile with LinkedIn data
  • Conduct and evaluate interviews via our AI Moderator
  • Check submission quality

Your data is processed by AI to improve matching and study experiences. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.

Research Delivery

Your participation data is shared with researchers for their studies. This includes:

  • Screening responses
  • Task submissions
  • Interview transcripts

Researchers use this data for their research purposes as described in each study.

Platform Operations

We use data to:

  • Process payments
  • Communicate with you
  • Improve our platform
  • Prevent fraud

Data Sharing

With Researchers

When you apply to a study, researchers can see:

  • Your profile information relevant to the study
  • Your screening responses
  • Your task submissions and interview transcripts

With Service Providers

We share data with:

  • Stripe Identity: For ID verification (they receive your ID image and selfie)
  • Virtual Incentives: For payment processing (they receive your email)
  • LiveKit: For interview hosting (they process audio/video)

We Never

  • Sell your personal data to third parties
  • Share your ID documents with researchers
  • Use interview data to train external AI models
  • Share your contact information without your consent

Data Security

We protect your data with:

  • Encryption in transit and at rest
  • Secure access controls
  • Regular security audits
  • SOC 2 certification

Data Retention

Active Accounts

We retain your data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after for legal and operational purposes.

Deleted Accounts

When you delete your account:

  • Your profile is removed
  • Historical participation data may be retained in anonymized form
  • We retain records as required by law

Research Data

Participation data (submissions, transcripts) may be retained by researchers according to their data retention policies.

Your Rights

Access

You can view your data in your profile and Earnings dashboard.

Correction

You can update your profile information at any time.

Deletion

You can request account deletion. Contact support to initiate this process.

Portability

You can request an export of your data.

Opt-Out

You can opt out of certain communications in your settings.

Regional Rights

United States (California)

California residents have additional rights under CCPA including the right to know, delete, and opt-out of sale (though we don't sell data).

European Union

EU residents have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, and portability.
