Time Tracking with Insightful
Install Insightful and record your hours on an hourly study.
Studies that pay by the hour track your time with Insightful. Install the app, pick your project, and press play while you work. You start and stop the timer yourself.
On your computer the app is called Workpuls. Insightful is the company, Workpuls is the app they ship. Same thing.
Step 1: Download the desktop application
You do not need to wait for an invitation email from Insightful, and you do not need to accept one. Once you reach the time-tracker step of a study, download the app for your operating system directly from app.insightful.io/#/token/download.
Windows 10 or later, macOS 11 or later, Linux in beta.
On macOS, allow screen and accessibility access when the installer asks. The app cannot record your time without them.
Step 2: Sign in
Use the email address you signed up to Terac with. That is the only address Insightful knows you by.
Never set a password? Click Forgot Password? and enter that same address.
Step 3: Pick your project
- Open the Time Tracking tab.
- Open your project under Assigned Projects.
If Assigned Projects is empty, contact us. Time you record outside your project never reaches the study, and it cannot be moved there afterwards.
Step 4: Start the timer
Press play on the task you are working on. Press it again to stop.
Time counts only while the timer runs, and only against the task you picked. Nothing is recorded before you press play or after you stop.
