Account & Profile

How do I change my email address?

Go to your account settings and update your email address. You'll need to verify the new email before the change takes effect.

Can I have more than one account?

No. Each person should have only one Terac account. Multiple accounts violate our terms of service and may result in suspension of all accounts.

How do I delete my account?

Contact support to request account deletion. Note that this action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Why can't I log in?

Common login issues:

  • Check your spam folder for the login email
  • Make sure you're using the correct email address
  • Try a different browser
  • Clear your browser cache

How do I update my profile?

Log in to your account and navigate to your profile settings. You can update most information at any time.

Opportunities & Applications

Why don't I see any opportunities?

Possible reasons:

  • Your profile may be incomplete
  • You may be missing required attestations
  • Available opportunities may not match your background
  • All current opportunities may be full

Complete your profile and check back regularly for new opportunities.

Why was I rejected from a study?

Common rejection reasons:

  • You didn't meet the screening criteria
  • The study filled up before your review
  • Your responses didn't meet quality standards
  • Technical issues prevented proper completion

Don't be discouraged, as rejections are normal. Keep applying to studies that match your background.

How long does it take to hear back after applying?

Timing varies by study:

  • Auto-reviewed screeners: Immediate
  • Manual review: 1-5 business days
  • Final approval: 1-7 business days after submission

Can I withdraw my application?

Generally, you cannot withdraw an application once submitted. If you have special circumstances, contact support.

How do I know which opportunities I qualify for?

Opportunities show their requirements upfront. If you're missing a required attestation or don't meet the criteria, you'll see what's missing.

Payments

When will I get paid?

After your submission is approved:

  1. Earnings are added to your balance immediately
  2. Cash out when you reach the minimum threshold
  3. Receive redemption email within 24-48 hours
  4. Redeem for your chosen reward

I clicked Cash Out but didn't receive an email

  1. Wait at least 48 hours
  2. Check your spam/junk folder
  3. Search for "Virtual Incentives"
  4. Verify your email address is correct
  5. Contact support if still not received

How do I choose a different reward type?

You can choose a different reward each time you receive a redemption email. Your selection is not locked in from previous cash outs.

Can I get a direct bank transfer instead of gift cards?

Currently, all payouts are processed through Virtual Incentives, which offers gift cards and prepaid cards. Direct bank transfers are not available at this time.

What's the minimum withdrawal amount?

The minimum balance required to cash out is shown on your Earnings dashboard. Earnings from multiple submissions accumulate toward this minimum.

Are my earnings taxable?

Yes, earnings from Terac may be taxable depending on your location and total income. You're responsible for reporting income according to your local tax laws.

Interviews

What if my microphone isn't working?

  1. Check browser permissions for microphone access
  2. Ensure the correct microphone is selected in your browser
  3. Try a different browser (Chrome works best)
  4. Test your microphone in your system settings
  5. Try using headphones with a built-in microphone

Can I retake an interview?

Generally, no. Interviews are one-time opportunities. If technical issues prevented completion, contact support immediately.

What language should I use?

Use the language specified in the study, which is usually the interview language you selected during onboarding.

How long are interviews?

Interview length varies:

  • Screening interviews: 5-10 minutes
  • Task interviews: 15-45 minutes
  • In-depth studies: May be longer

The expected duration is shown before you start.

Verification

Why do I need to verify my phone number?

Phone verification helps us confirm you're a real person and prevents duplicate accounts. It's required for most opportunities.

What if my ID verification fails?

Common reasons and solutions:

  • Blurry photo: Retake with better lighting
  • Expired ID: Use a valid, non-expired document
  • Face doesn't match: Ensure good lighting for selfie
  • Unsupported ID type: Try a different document (passport, driver's license, national ID)

Is my ID information secure?

Yes. ID verification is handled by Stripe Identity, a trusted third-party service. Terac does not store images of your ID documents.

Referrals

When do I get paid for referrals?

You earn commission when your referral:

  1. Completes an opportunity
  2. Gets their submission approved
  3. Their payment is processed

Your commission is then added to your balance.

Yes. They must use your referral link when creating their account. If they sign up without the link, you won't receive credit.

What if my referral already has an account?

Referral credit only applies to new accounts. Existing accounts cannot be added as referrals retroactively.
